DTM Map the ground modelling module by NRG Surveys. The module is designed for contouring, volumes, generating cross sections and for visualisation.
Data can be imported from a wide range of industry standard formats including AutoCAD, MXGenio and the majority of survey instrument manufacturers.
The data can be edited via a spreadsheet style interface below the view window. The DTM Map interface displays observations or coordinated information, together with any point or line coding.
A surface model is created by triangulating the points, using Delaunay triangulation. Creating the triangle mesh is as easy as a mouse click.
In order to force the triangles to form correctly the use of breaklines has been accounted for. Breaklines force triangles to form along the specified line and any line used in the data can be set to be a breakline. Boundary lines can also be used to stop the triangulation mesh being created outside the data set.
The triangulated mesh can also be edited manually in the DTM Map Ground Modelling software. This means any changes made to the mesh will not affect the raw data.
In DTM Map contours can be displayed, which are totally customisable. They can be annotated, smoothed, line style and colour altered and can also be displayed as colour shading.
Different surfaces of the model can be assigned, for instance different areas of construction or surface finish. Depths can be associated or each surface for volume calculations.
Volume calculations can be calculated between the surfaces of two different models and ispoachs displayed to show depths of cut and fill areas.
Borehole data can also be introduced to a model to create sub-surface layers for export.
Cross sections can be taken through the model at specified chainages along a design alignment or one purposefully created. Dynamic cross sections can also be drawn on the screen, updated as the section is moves across the view window.
